Gone - 5-14-2016 Brooklyn

Previous | Next

***GONE 05/14/16*** WANTED: RESCUE ANGEL! Medgard Ever (Yes, that’s what the ACC is calling him) is a 3 year old panther boy, who was brought into the shelter as a stray. This baby’s photo’s are absolutely HEART SHATTERING. This poor baby boy takes a few minutes to warm up, but once he does he offers head butts and rolls onto his side for petting all over! Medgard Ever has just had his whole world turned upside down, and on top of it has caught the kennel cold! In true ACC fashion, they’ve scheduled him to DIE AT NOON TOMORROW if a NEW HOPE RESCUE isn’t able to pull him in time! Please contact the Help Desk at [email protected] to begin working with a New Hope partner to adopt/foster this handsome man. With a little tlc and some patience, this sweetie can really shine! Don’t let his life end this way, save him NOW!

05/10/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Medgar Evers was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. The enrichment facilitator has been monitoring Medgar Evers and reports that when he first arrived he was nervous, tense and stayed at the back of the kennel. During his stay he has slowly come out his shell and allows contact. He is hesitant at first but warms up and lightly rubs up for attention and allows petting all over. Reaction to assessor: Medgar Evers is curled up tight in his litter box. He makes eye contact but doesn’t come forward. Reaction when softly spoken to: Medgar Evers slow blinks at the assessor and turns his head away. Reaction to cage door opening: Medgar Evers remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Medgar Evers sniffs the assessors hand and remains motionless as you pet him. He allows petting all over and slowly warms up to contact. After a few soft passes he lightly head butts the assessor’s hand the rolls over on his side. Please note that Medgar Evers is being treated for an upper respiratory infection at the time of the behavior assessment. This condition may affect some of the behaviors shown during evaluation. Behavior Determination: Experience Medgar Evers tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
