Basic Information:
Mayzem is a 7 year old spayed Gray Tabby DSH that has no past or current medical issues that the owner is aware of. Owner has had Mayzem since she was a kitten.
Socialization:
According to the owner, around strangers can be shy for a few minutes but when she feels comfortable she will come out from hiding. Around adults, Mayzem needs to be in the mood to play but when she does she is gentle. Around children, Mayzem is respectful and relaxed but she doesn’t play with them. She is tolerant and respectful around other cats. She has not been around any dogs so her behavior is unknown. She has never bitten a person or another animal before.
Behavior:
Previous owners stated that Mayzem does like to use large uncovered litter boxes. If the litter box is too small Mayzem may use the bathroom outside of the litter box. Owner did not bath or trim Mayzem’s nails so it is unknown how she would react to these grooming agents. Mayzem isn’t bothered by having her coat brushed. Mayzem struggles when being held. Mayzem struggles when being put into a carrier and she meow a lot during car rides.
For a New Family to Know:
Mayzem is described as mellow, shy, and independent with a medium activity level. When in the home, Mayzem is would hide until she felt comfortable or stay hidden. She does play with cat tunnels and chasing toys that have cat nip inside of them. She was kept indoors and is litter box trained. Mayzem used a unhooded litter box and clumping litter. She was fed Purina dry cat food and Friskies wet food every once in a while. Mayzem is declawed in her front legs.
