**SAFE 08/21/16** SECOND CHANCE FOR WONDERFUL MAXX!! MAXX IS A MARVELOUS KITTY!! SAVE HIM TONIGHT! Maxx is an older gent who was dumped at ACC for the lame “no time” excuse. Maxx lived with an older child and another kitty who he played with. His intake notes say: “Maxx is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, assertive & talkative with a medium-high activity level. When the owner is home Maxx follows them around if not he’s with the younger cat. He enjoys mouse & ball toys and is an indoor only cat who sleeps where ever.” Maxx earned a stellar AVERAGE behavior rating. Don’t let this guy be killed for a few sneezes. Adopt or foster this great guy!

08/01/16 10:24 Basic Info: Maxx A1083803 is a 11 year old male orange tabby DSH feline who was given to the owner as a gift & is being surrendered due to no time. Maxx hasn’t been seen by a veterinarian and currently has no known health issues/injuries. Socialization: Around strangers Maxx is friendly/outgoing. He lived with a 6 month old cat and was gentle, exuberant, relaxed/affectionate & playful with him but will hide when he became overwhelmed from playing. He played well with the adults and 13 year old child in the home. Maxx hasn’t bitten/scratched any person or animal. Behavior: Maxx hasn’t been on a car ride. He isn’t bothered by the following: being picked up/held or with being placed into a carrier. Maxx hasn’t been given a bath, had his nails trimmed, been brushed or been disturbed while sleeping/resting. For a New Family to Know: Maxx is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, assertive & talkative with a medium-high activity level. When the owner is home Maxx follows them around if not he’s with the younger cat. He enjoys mouse & ball toys and is an indoor only cat who sleeps where ever. Maxx was not allowed on the bed due to the owner developing allergies. Maxx eats dry & wet Meow Mix 1-2x a day. He is uncovered litter box trained with clumping litter within. Maxx doesn’t always use the scratching post & scratches on items in the home at times. Intake Behavior: Maxx had a soft body & soft eyes. He allowed all handling. Maxx allowed to be scanned (-), collared & taken pictures of including positioning him during his photo session. He didn’t seem to mind being picked up/held & was placed into a kennel with ease.

Maxx’s former owner stated around strangers he is friendly/outgoing. He lived with a 6 month old cat and was gentle, exuberant, relaxed/affectionate & playful with him but will hide when he became overwhelmed from playing. He played well with the adults and 13 year old child in the home. Also, described as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, assertive & talkative with a medium-high activity level. Reaction to assessor: Maxx looks tense, crouched positon at the back when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Maxx remains in place, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Maxx slowly leans into the assessor’s hand, kneads in place and raises his hind legs during the petting, but remains a bit wary with his surroundings while his eyes wander. Reaction to Being Picked up: He calmly jumps back into the cage during the pickup. Placement determination: Average Maxx interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
