I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 12/03/2016 from NY 10453, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

12/03/16 14:13 Mavia A1098542 is an estimated 9yr old female black & white DMH feline who was found in the finder’s family member’s home in the Bronx earlier today. The client stated she’s friendly and allowed them to pick her up and carry her to be brought in. During intake Mavia was so sweet and loves to explore. She rubs herself on you or your hand. Mavia purrs and seems to enjoy being held at least for a few minutes. She allowed to be scanned (-), collared and taken pictures of. Mavia was picked up/held and placed into a kennel with ease.

Mavia was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Her finder reports she was friendly and allowed them to pick her up. Upon intake, she explored the room and displayed sweet behavior towards the counselor. She rubs herself on the counselor, purring and appeared to enjoy being held. She allowed all handling during the intake process and her initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Mavia was calm, relaxed, and friendly upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Mavia approaches the front and rubs against the cage door, soliciting attention. Reaction to cage door opening: Mavia remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Mavia head-butts, begins to purr, and arches her back when touched on her back. She was very affectionate throughout the interaction. Reaction to being picked up: Mavia remains calm, but wiggles to be placed back down shortly after. Behavior Determination: Average Mavia interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
