04/13/16 16:34 BASIC INFO Master A1070233 is a 15 year old domestic shorthair cat. He is being surrendered to the shelter because his owner is 80 years old and cannot properly care for him due to health concerns. Owner had the cat for 15 years and he does not have any health concerns. SOCIALIZATION Master is very shy around strangers and would go hide in owner’s room when company came over. Master has never lived with another cat. Master has tried to scratch his senior owner. BEHAVIOR Master is a cat that is better suited for a home with no children and a young couple or single person. He is very independent and generally does not like to be bothered much. He did allow the owner to place him in a carrier. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Master was very loving towards his senior owner. He has a low activity level as he is a senior cat. He has been kept mostly indoors and he does not like to play with any toys. He sleeps in the seniors bed. He used a regular litter box with fresh step litter. He was fed Deli Cat brand dry food. He uses furniture to scratch on. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Master allowed all handling, collaring and photos.

Master’s former owner stated he is very shy around strangers and would go hide in owner’s room when company came over. Master has never lived with another cat. Reaction to assessor: Master looks neutral in the cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Master remains lying down on his cage bedding, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch: Master leans into the assessor’s hand then stands with tail up and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: He becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Average Master interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
