06/22/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Mavin Gaye does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Mavin Gaye does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Mavin Gaye remains motionless Reaction to touch: Mavin Gaye seems indifferent to touch at first but slowly starts to warm up and respond to petting Try picking cat up: Mavin Gaye is tolerant of this type of handling but tense. Behavior Determination: Experience Marvin Gaye was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices he relaxed a little and I was able to pet him and interact with him in a limited way. I was also able to pick him up and although he was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
