KNOWN HISTORY: Lived Indoors ENRICHMENT NOTES: 4/3/17 Briefly towards the front of the cage to eat. Started hissing and retreating on approach. Very tense posture, eyes dilated. Licked offered treat, but didn’t eat. Moved to and hunched down in litter box. Sniffed assess-a-hand and tolerated pets, but hunched lower and flattened ears. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is slightly re-arranged Reaction to assessor: Marmalade looks tense, crouched position at the back when approached by the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Marmalade remains alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Marmalade sits up in place then leans away from the assessor’s hand, but once she accepts the stroke she becomes immobile. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Motionless VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy and Timid RECOMMENDATIONS: – Experienced cat parent Marmalade tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
