Wounds are already starting to granulate. To evidance of maggots or pus. Wounds are of unkown cause. Observed Behavior – allowed for all handling Evidence of Cruelty seen – n Evidence of Trauma seen – yes Objective P = 188 R = 36 BCS 5/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: wnl PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: intact male, both testicles palpable MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat. Two large open wounds to medial right hind limb CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment – Two large wounds secondary to open abcsess to right hind limb medial aspect Plan – start patient on Clavamox 13mg/kg PO as well Onsior SQ, applied SSD ointment to wound. Cip and clean wound at time of Neuter. Prognosis: good SURGERY: Okay for surgery

S/O: BARH. Active, attention seeking, allows all handling. BCS 4/9
EENT: Teeth clean, pink mm, eyes clear, no ocular or nasal discharge
HL: Normal thoracic auscultation
INTEG: Two open wounds at region of medial right stifle — ~3cm full thickness open wound at cranial medial stifle with dead space proximally, no discharge, healthy granulation tissue forming at cranial aspect of wound; ~1cm full thickness open wound at caudomedially just distal to region of stife, no discharge, minimal dead space
MS: Ambulatory x 4
UG: Male intact
Simbadol, onsior and telazol given by LVT (See pre/post neuter entry for doses)
Patient clipped and prepper for wound repair and neuter
Larger, more cranial wound: 3-0 PDS used in one cruciate knot at middle of wound, one simple interrupted knot at caudal aspect of wound, healthy granualtion tissue at cranial wound left to heal by second intention and allow drainage for wound
Smaller, more caudal wound: 3-0 PDS used for one cruciate knot at middle of wound to appose wound edges and assist healing, and allow drainage
A: Wounds
P: Continue with augmentin as scheduled. No additional pain management indicated.
Excellent prognosis

KNOWN HISTORY:
Marlow was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:
Allowed for all handling
ENRICHMENT NOTES:
06/07/17
Sitting in front of kennel, eating. Very good appetite, allows petting while raising tail and continuing to eat. Friendly and appreciates attention despite injury. Doing well!
EVALUATION:
Cage Condition: Cage is re-arranged
Reaction to assessor: Marlow was sprawled out and resting by the front of the kennel.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Marlow chirps then turns around and makes eye contact. He rubs his cheeks on the cage door and starts purring softly.
Reaction to cage door opening: Marlow gets up and wait by the door to interact with the assessor.
Reaction to touch: Marlow gently leans his head in allows rubs and petting all over. He’s constantly rubbing against the assessor, gives head butts and rolls over on his side playfully when pet.
Reaction to being picked up: Marlow is calm, relaxed and allows all handling.
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Lively
VOCAL: Talkative
CHARACTER TYPE: Easy going, Sweet, Affectionate

BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner
Marlow interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
