12/01/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Margret was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Margret was curled up in her litter box at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Margret keeps her eyes focused on the assessor and doesn’t get up or come forward when coaxed. Reaction to cage door opening: Margret remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Margret slowly rises up, looks around the kennel with wide eyes and starts to yowl when the assessor approaches. She flinches when touched, lowers her body then slowly shifts away from contact. Her body is tense and she slowly makes her way forward trying to leave the kennel. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Margret tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
