CBC shows very mild neutrophilia (10.58K/uL) and a severe thrombocytopenia (26K/uL) Chemistry shows mild increased BUN (40mg/dL) TT4 normal A: Consider machine error although no notes about platet clumping reported vs true thrombocytopenia which may be due to neoplasia vs other (no signs of trauma or hemorrhage) P: Continue to monitor while at BACC. Consider repeat blood work with placement. Fair prognosis

KNOWN HISTORY: Manning was brought into our care center as a stray so there is no previous history available. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Quiet and calm, allows all handling. ENRICHMENT NOTES: Sitting crouched in front of kennel. He perks up when pet and begins to lean in with his shoulders. Allows petting along head and body, leaning in while remaining crouched. Friendly senior cat – doing well! EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Manning is standing upright in his cage as the assessor approaches, body relaxed and ears forward. Reaction when softly spoken to: Manning makes eye contact when spoken to with soft eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Manning comes forward when the cage door opens. Reaction to touch: Manning allows petting along his head and body while leaning in. Reaction to being picked up: Manning allows pick up, remaining calm and relaxed in the assessor’s arms. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Sweet, Affectionate BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Manning interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.

Evidence of Cruelty seen – No. Evidence of Trauma seen – No. Objective: QARH. mm=lt pink, moist, CRT<2 s. HR=200, RR=20. BCS=2/9. ORA: Missing multiple teeth, mod calculus. EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted. PLN: No enlargements noted. H/L: Lungs clear, no murmurs/arrhythmias. ABD: Non painful, no masses/organomegaly palpated. U/G: Neutered male. MS: Ambulatory x 4, no lameness. INTEG: Dry, dirty haircoat, multiple mats over dorsum. Mild decreased skin turgor. CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities. A: Approx. 15 yr old cat with poor haircoat, underweight. DDx: Hyperthyroidism, renal disease, liver disease, other. P: House in medical. Scheduled for CBC/CHEM/T4, mat shave and nail trim. LRS 100 ml q 24 hours x 3 days. Fair prognosis pending lab test results.
