05/29/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Luna was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Luna was hiding behind her bogus paper with eyes wide focused on all movements. Reaction when softly spoken to: Luna’s ears flatten and she lowers her body attempting to hide. Reaction to cage door opening: Luna remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Luna has an arched body and slowly inches away from contact. She hisses then swats as I approach and currently doesn’t allow any handling. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Luna is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
