03/30/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
03/30/16 17:34 Lumi is an adult female DSH cat. She lived with an older woman who passed away. None of her owner’s family members can keep her, so they had to surrender her. Lumi’s owner’s relative reports that she was close to her owner and that she would follow her and sit in her lap. The relative has been visiting her to feed her and reports that she uses her litterbox, eats dry and wet food, and hasn’t bit or scratched anyone. Lumi was tense and crouched in her cardboard box. She stood tall to look around outside the box. I pet her and she lied down and rolled around, head butting me, her body soft and pupils very small. Someone entered the room and spoke to us and she crouched, looking around with wide eyes again. She allowed me to collar her, pick her up, and put her on the counter, but then walked around with a low, crouched body, looking around. After picking her up and putting her back in the middle of the counter a few times, she began to hiss at me. She walked behind the backdrop and sat crouched on the counter. She hissed when I offered her a carrier. As I reached towards her with a towel, she meowed a very quiet, high pitched meow. She was tolerant and didn’t resist or hiss again as I picked her up and put her in a carrier.
