06/19/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Logan’s previous owner reports he has been playful and loving with his littermates. He is unbothered when held and has no past issues of biting anyone. He was fearful during intake and would attempt to flee from contact. Despite fear, he allowed all handling upon intake and during his initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Logan was calm and relaxed upon approach, resting. Reaction when softly spoken to: Logan looks at the assessor and blinks softly. Reaction to cage door opening: Logan remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Logan lowers his body and was hesitant of contact. He may try to inch away from contact, but allows touch and closes his eyes. He warms up after a moment, but seems mostly shy and unsure initially. He begins to purr after spending some time with him. Reaction to being picked up: Logan remains soft and allows all handling. Behavior Determination: Experience Logan tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
