I am a neutered male brn tabby domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 1 YEAR 1 MONTH old.
I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 06/27/2017 from NY 11236, owner surrender reason stated was MOVE2PRIVA. I came in with Group/Litter #K17-102306.

A1116705 Link – Adult only determination; Previous owner reports he is a bit fearful around strangers. He displays fearful behaviors when approached for interaction; his body becomes tense and he focuses on the person. He closes his eyes and flinches when touched on his head. He appears very uncomfortable and will curl up, trying to hide during the interaction.

PE: wnl Exam & surgery performed by Dr.#1204 Feline neuter Anesthesia – 0.10mL Telazol induction. Sx. – Routine scrotal castration. No sutures placed, incisions left open to drain. Green linear tattoo placed on ventral abdomen. 0.55mL Simbadol injectable and 0.41mL Onsior for pain management.

06/27/17 16:35 Link is a 1 year old unaltered male brown tabby DSH mix; he was bred in the home and was being surrender due to the owner having too many pets. He has no known health issues or injures and has no vet history. Around strangers Link is a bit fearful but will family member to pet him. He prefers not to be pet. He has never been around children and has lived with at least 7 other cats. Around the other cats Link is relaxed but does play rough and play bites. Link has never had a bite history. When his fearful of loud noises he seek to hide. Due to Link no having a scratching post he likes to scratch on the furniture. Link loves to be brushed and held, He does struggle to go into the carrier but once Temptations treats. He was described as Friendly, affectionate, and playful with a high activity level. He is feed dry and wet food 3 times a day. Link is litter-box trained and uses an uncovered box with fresh step none clumping. During intake Link was fearful, ear was flat and body tense. He seeks to hid. Minimal handling was done but he walked into his carrier.

KNOWN HISTORY: Indoors Only Previously lived with: Adults Behavior toward strangers: A bit fearful Behavior toward children: Unknown Behavior toward cats: Lived with 7 other cats and was relaxed. He plays rough and play bites. Behavior toward dogs: Unknown Bite or Scratch history: None Litter box training: Yes Energy level/descriptors: Friendly, affectionate, and playful with a high activity level. Other notes: He didn’t have a scratching post and instead scratched on the furniture. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Shy, tried to slink away EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is slightly re-arranged Reaction to assessor: Link was curled up in the back of the kennel with wide eyes focused on the assessor. Reaction when softly spoken to: Link lip licks then lowers her head and curls up tight. Reaction to cage door opening: Link is alert. Reaction to touch: Link shifts his body weight and leans away when the assessor extends his hand out. He closes his eyes and flinches when touched on his head. His body feels tense/stiff when touched, he turns his head away and curls up and tries to hide behind his litter box. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Timid RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced, adult home only – Link tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.
