I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 07/18/2016 from NY 10468, owner surrender reason stated was ALLERGIES.

07/18/16 13:08 Basic Information Link is a neutered 1 year old brown tabby who is being surrendered by owner due to allergies. Owner stated Link is in good health. Link’s last visit to the vet was about five months ago when he got neutered. Socialization Around strangers Link is shy at first but will open up in a few minutes. Link has never lived or been around any children. He will play in a somewhat rough manner if you use your hands; if you use a toy it should be fine. Link has never lived with any other kinds of animals. He has never bitten a person or animal. Behavior Link has scratched leather furniture. He is relaxed when traveling in cars or public transportation. Link is not bothered by having his coat brushed, being picked up, placed in carrier, or disturbed while sleeping. For bath time Link in scared a little at first but will relax afterwards. Owner stated after bathing is the best time to trim his nails. If you try to trim his nails any other time you will struggle. For a New Family to Know Owner described Link as Friendly, playful, mellow, and quiet with a medium to high activity level. Owner’s favorite thing about Link is that he follows him around. Link likes boiled chicken and chasing mouse toys. Links likes to play with string and chasing toys. He is kept indoors only and sleeps at the end of owner’s bed. Link eats wet food from Trader Joe’s, yellow package, 1/3 cup three times a day. Link uses a hooded litter box with clumping style litter. Link does not like his belly rubbed. Link tends to scratch owner’s leather furniture. Owner states Link will respond to his name. Behavior during Intake Link was tolerant of all handling during intake. No signs of aggression were displayed.

Also, described Link as friendly, playful, mellow, and quiet with a medium to high activity level. Reaction to assessor: Link looks neutral, lying down on his cage bedding when approached. Reaction to door opening: Link remains in place, relaxed body posture, kneading in place, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch: Link leans into the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: He becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Average Link interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
