Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Linguini was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She walked to the front of her carrier when approached by the counselor during intake, and remained by the front as the carrier door was opened. She allowed all handling throughout the intake process and was easily placed back into her carrier. She also allowed handling during her initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Linguini was resting upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Linguini looks at the assessor and then looks around at her surroundings. Reaction to cage door opening: Linguini remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Linguini sniffs the assessor’s hand and was a bit hesitant initially, but she closes her eyes, leans in for cheek rubs, rolls over, and begins to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Linguini was slightly tense, but remains calm when held. Behavior Determination: Average Linguini interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is displaying behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
