***SAFE 08/23/17*** LOVELY LINEN IS AN AFFECTIONATE KITTY THAT NEEDS YOUR HELP TONIGHT! A volunteer writes: Hi, there! Thank you for stopping by! My name is Linen, and I’m a 6 year old girl. Fun fact, when I was a baby cat, I was found outside wrapped in blankets–that’s how I got my name! And here are some other fun facts about me–I love to be held, I love to give head butts, and get cheek rubs. I really love my human friends, and I show them how much I love them by licking their hands! I also am a big purr machine. When I’m being held and feeling super-happy, I purr and purr and purr! You can probably hear it right now, from wherever you are, if you listen hard enough? You can’t hear it? Well, you will just have to come down to the shelter and meet me for yourself!
LINEN was dumped for litterbox issues but needs to see a vet to see if there is any issues with his urinary tract. He has only been fed dry food and has a small bladder and is overweight. Friendly and needs a home. MUST RESERVE BY NOON!!

ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate, Lively VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Social, Sweet, Affectionate POTENTIAL CHALLENGES: – Inappropriate elimination – Linen’s previous owner reports that she was eliminating right outside the litter box or on carpets. The owner has provided various litter boxes, used attractant litter, and fully cleaned the litter box weekly, but please note that her previous living situation may have contributed to the behavior seen. She lived in a home with cats that she did not get along with. We cannot be sure whether this behavior will continue in a different home environment, but we recommend that potential adopters be comfortable with management and modification techniques for elimination outside the litter box should this behavior continue in a home environment.
BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Linen interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Although she is displaying behaviors appropriate for new cat parents, due to her litter box history, we recommend she go to a home with cat parents who have an average amount of experience. We also recommend she go to a home with no other cats OR multi-cat home with adopters experienced with introducing new cats slowly and gradually over a long period of time to prevent unwanted litter box accidents from reoccurring.
