She is 6 years old and SPAYED and has lived with very small children, her cat friends and a dog (was afraid of the dog)….She is a quiet mellow lady and prefers sleeping to playing. 09/17/16 14:53 Basic Information: LiL Girl is a 6 y/o spayed female DSH that has no past or current medical issues that the owner is aware of. Owner has had LiL Girl for the last 4 years but had to surrender him due to personal problems. Socialization: According to the owner, around strangers LiL Girl is usually shy for a few days at first. Once she is comfortable, she plays gently. She has been around children ages newborn – 2 y/o & and would hide when they approached her. She has lived with 2 others cats in the home and was respectful around them but would not play with them. LiL Girl has also been around a large dog in the home & would hide around the animal. She has never bit another animal or person while in the care of the owner. Behavior: In the car, LiL Girl will usually sleep in the carrier. Owner has never tried to trim her nails, or give her a bath therefore behavior is unknown. When owner would try to brush her coat, pick her up/ hold her or put her in a carrier, she would try to run away. She is not bothered by being disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know: LiL Girl is described as friendly, affectionate, mellow, shy around new people, and quiet with a low activity level. In the home, she liked to stay in her favorite spot. Owner stated she did not play with any toys in the home & would prefer to sleep instead. LiL Girl was kept indoors only & is litter box trained. In the home, she used a hooded litter box with clumping litter. Owner did not have a scratching post in the home for LiL Girl to use and stated that she did not scratch on any furniture. She was fed dry food only brand name Purina in the home. Behavior during intake: LiL Girl was nervous during intake. When I put my hand out for her to smell, she backed away and began lip licking. I was able to scan her for a mc, collar and take her picture without any issues but she did try to run away from me a few times.

Lil Girl came to the shelter surrendered by an owner who described her as affectionate and quiet and notes that she socialized well with other cats in the home. Reaction to assessor: Lil Girl is at the back of her cage, body neutral. Reaction when softly spoken to: Lil Girl remains neutral. Reaction to cage door opening: Lil Girl remains neutral. Reaction to touch: Lil Girl allows petting all over body. Reaction to pick up: Lil Girl is tolerant of this type of handling. Placement Determination: Average Lil Girl does not approach the assessor, but allows all petting and handling. Lil Girl is exhibiting behavior suited to average cat parents. Please note that Lil Girl is being treated for an upper-respiratory infection at the time of the assessment, and that this may affect the behaviors shown.
