LICORICE – A1075106
Gone - 5-31-2016 Brooklyn
***GONE 05/31/16*** FRONT DECLAWED AND NEUTERED! Licorice is a 12 year old fluffy house panther, who obviously once new what is was to have a home. Given his FRONT DECLAWED and NEUTERED status, someone clearly had loved this cat at one point. However, Licorice was found as a stray and brought into the shelter. Is it possible that his previous owner had decided he was getting “too old” and given him the boot? What an awful thought. This handsome boy has been given an EXPNOCHILD rating, as he allows petting but is tense in the shelter. Is it any wonder? This poor senior has gone from living in a comfortable home, to on the rough streets, to being LISTED TO DIE AT NOON TOMORROW at the ACC. Anyone would be described as “tense” given those circumstances! Licorice needs a retirement home to call his own. Do you have a window spot with a ray of sunshine this baby can curl up in? Please don’t let him die tomorrow on a cold table alone. Please advocate for him RIGHT NOW! His last hours are slipping away!

05/28/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Licorice does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Licorice does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Licorice remains motionless Reaction to touch: Licorice was tense but allowed petting Try picking cat up: Licorice is not tolerant of this type of handling Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Licorice was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying fearful behavior. Licorice does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices he relaxed a little. I was able to pet him and interact with him in a limited way. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents with no children.
