11/19/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Leo was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Leo was crouched and alert at the front of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Leo seems curious and leans forward to sniff the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Leo’s eyes widen and he takes a step back. Reaction to touch: Leo is hesitant when the assessor approaches and leans away from contact. She allows petting all over and takes a few moments before she warms up. Her body slowly rises up, she appreciates attention and she seems wary of her surroundings. Reaction to being picked up: Leo was a bit tense when picked up, curls up in the assessor’s arm and slowly warms up. Please note that Leo is being treated for an upper respiratory infection at the time of the behavior assessment. This condition may affect some of the behaviors shown during evaluation. Behavior Determination: Average Leo interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
