DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: 5-6 weeks Microchip noted on Intake? no History : stray kittens Subjective: Kittens are all BARH Observed Behavior – All kittens are huddled at back of carrier, showing signs of fear (body low, pupils dilated, tries to flee, hissing and vocalizing). Restraint needed throughout exam. Bites oral syringe when dewormers given (all males, not the female). Female kitten seems a touch less fearful than males. All males are highly fearful, try to escape, and avoid interaction even with a slow approach and time to warm up. Evidence of Cruelty seen – no Evidence of Trauma seen – no Objective T = NA P = NA R = NA BCS 3-4/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: NE PLN: NE H/L: NMA, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: wnl; both testicles palpable scrotally MSI: Ambulatory x 4, flea dirt seen, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: not performed Assessment: Underage/Underweight Plan: Recommend placement with rescue or foster that has experience with socializing semi-feral kittens.
