SAFE 3/27/18 **PRIORITY PLACEMENT NEEDED* HYPERTHYROID* 10 year old LEGO is a spayed girl who was brought in with housemate SPOTTIE and 4 more housemates when owner died. LEGO was brought in with her medication for hyperthyroidism and high blood pressure. She is already spayed and needs some further blood work. Please help LEGO and her senior housemate today!

Vocalizing in front of kennel as I approach. Head-butts kennel door when spoken to. Allows petting along head and body while leaning in with energy and raising tail. Very social and friendly and doing great! Allows all petting.

Lego reaches out with soft paws and rolls around playfully.

3/18: increased methimazole dose from 5mg to 10mg PO SID
BP – wnl
CBC/Chem: hyperglobulinemic (6.2), ALT elevated (245)
T4: 14.3
Subjective: BAR. No csvd. Normal bm and u in litter box. Good appetite.
Objective
EENT: eyes clear no d/c, no nasal discharge noted
H/L: Normal RR/RE, eupneic
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, healthy hair coat
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities

Tested faint positive for FELV on intake — recommend IFA testing to confirm
Plan:
Amlodipine 1/4 tab PO SID
Continue methimazole 10mg PO SID until 4/1-recheck BW
CT-negative however recommend IFA for FeLV before introducing to other cats, recommend isolation from other cats until testing
Prognosis: Fair to poor depending on IFA results

Plan: Continue with medications provided – Amlodipine 1/4 tab PO SID and Tapazole 5mg (1 tab) PO SID. Scheduled blood work and check blood pressure for tomorrow to get baseline, confirm appropriate dosages.
Prognosis: Fair/good short term prognosis with appropriate treatment
