04/13/16 14:30 Basic information: Leena is a domestic short hair cat who is friendly and calm. Leena was surrendered with her housemate Cee Cee due to her original owner passing away and no one coming to claim her. Socialization: Around strangers Leena is shy for a few days and doesn’t play. Leena has not been around any children, dogs or cats besides her housemate Cee Cee who she was relaxed and affectionate with. While with her caretaker Leena did not bite or scratch another person or animal. Behavior: Leena has no behavior issues and is relaxed when riding in a car .Cee Cee’s previous care taker did not attempt give her a bath, trim her nails, or brush her coat so it is unknown how she will react to those events. Leena enjoys being picked up/held, being placed in a carrier, or being disturbed while she is resting. For a New Family to Know: Leena is described as friendly, affectionate, mellow, confident, and quiet with a low activity level. Leena likes to stay in her favorite spot and does not usually play with toys. Leena has been kept indoors only and was fed dry food on a free feeding schedule from the brand Friskies. Leena is litter box trained and uses a hooded litter box with clumping litter. Leena uses a horizontal scratching post made of cardboard. Intake Behavior: Leena was curious during her intake and look around the office while staying in one spot. Leena allowed staff to collar, scan for a microchip and take pictures with no signs of aggression.

As per previous owner, Leena is friendly, calm and usually doesn’t play. Leena has not been around any children, dogs or cats besides her housemate who she was relaxed and affectionate towards. She enjoys being picked up and doesn’t usually play with toys. The enrichment facilitator has been monitoring Leena and reports that she slowly comes forward and solicits attention. She lightly head butts and keeps her tail up. Reaction to assessor: Leena is calm and relaxed at the front of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Leena starts rubbing up against the kennel door. Reaction to cage door opening: Leena is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Leena slowly head butts and rubs up against the assessor’s hand. She allows petting all over and is very affectionate. Reaction to being picked up: Leena is tense when held, meows softly then leaps back into the kennel. Behavior Determination: Average Leena interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
