Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Lauder and at the time she moved when approached. She had a tense body with wide eyes but was tolerant of touch.
Reaction to assessor: Lauder does not come to front but remains neutral
When spoken quietly: Lauder does not come to front but remains neutral
Reaction to door cage opening: Lauder flinches but stays at the back of the cage
Reaction to touch: Lauder was very tense and uncomfortable when touched
Try picking cat up: Did not attempt
Behavior Determination: Experience No Child
Lauder was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer. I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents with no children.
