*** SAFE 05/30/17 *** A volunteer writes: Laguna is a soft-hued, muted tortie; so petite and adorable. She’s very playful and curious, and can’t get enough head-rubbing. When you have to leave her to do something else, she looks at you with such a sad face that says “I can’t believe you’re leaving me.” She’s ready for her forever home, and she’s waiting for you.

05/21/2017 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
KNOWN HISTORY: Laguna was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Her finders report she has been coming in their house through their doggy door for the past few days. She did not display any signs of aggression and they were able to place her inside a crate with no issue. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – hissing in kennel, allowed exam with restraint EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Laguna was digging in her litter box upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Laguna looks at the assessor, but returns her focus to her litter box. Reaction to cage door opening: Laguna sits upright and wraps her tail around her body. Reaction to touch: Laguna was hesitant, but she pokes her head forward to sniff the assessor’s hand and slowly leans in for petting. She pushes her head up when pet on top of her head and arches her back. She appears to appreciate attention, but seems wary of her surroundings and will grumble when she peeks outside of her kennel. Reaction to being picked up: Laguna allows pick up, but she wiggles to be placed back down. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Timid, Sweet, Affectionate RECOMMENDATIONS: – Experienced cat parent – Laguna tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
