Basic Information:
Kyra is an 11 year old spayed female DSH that has no past or current medical issues that the owner is aware of. Owner s had Kyra for 11 years but had to surrender due to moving to a different state.
Socialization:
According to the owner, around strangers Kyra is shy for a few minutes but once comfortable she interacts in a gently matter with adults. She has been around children of all ages and was always respectful around the children. Owner had another cat at one point in the home a neutered male and stated that Kyra was very tolerant of the other animal. She has never been around dogs so behavior is unknown. Kyra does not have a bite history.
Behavior:
Owner has never tried to bathe Kyra or trim her nails so behavior is unknown. Kyra is afraid and will struggle to run away when the owner would try to brush her coat, pick Kyra up and hold her or put her into a carrier. When owner would disturb her while Kyra is sleeping, Kyra would not be bothered.
For a New Family to Know:
Kyra is described as friendly, affectionate, mellow, independent and quiet. She has a low activity level and likes to play with balls, wand toys and laser pointers. In the home, Kyra loves to be in her favorite spot and lounge around. She was kept indoors only and is litter box trained. In the home, Kyra used an uncovered litter box with clumping litter. Owner had a scratching post made of cardboard in the home that Kyra liked to use frequently. She was fed both wet and dry food brand Friskies.
Behavior during intake: Kyra was at the front of the carrier during intake. Counselor was able to transfer Kyra from carrier to den without any issues and scan for a mc. Once out of the den, counselor was able to collar and take a picture without any issues.
