KYLEE – A1064519
Safe - 2-29-2016 Manhattan Rescue: Staten Island Hope Please honor your pledges: http://www.statenislandhoperescue.org/
**SAFE 02/29/16** “A staff member writes, “Kylee is a petite furry angel who is looking for a new home to call her own. This sweetheart is a little nervous in a loud shelter, and would do best in a quieter home. Kylee doesn’t mind if you have to work long hours, just as long as you cuddle up and show her some love when you get home. Kylee likes to sit and watch the goings on outside her cat house, but takes a few minutes to warm up to someone who wants to meet her. She would love to have a nice window perch and a pillow in a home to watch the world go by. Come give an older cat a second chance at a happy fur-ever home today!” KYLEE is hardly an “older” cat, she has 6 years of perfection to her credit and a groovy EXPERIENCE rating. Please find a FOSTER/ADOPTER to save this exceptional girl tonight!

02/08/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Kylee was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. The finder reports she appeared friendly, and she was easy to handle during her initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Kylee was inside a hidey den upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Kylee remains calm and relaxed in the den and does not respond. Reaction to cage door opening: Kylee remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Kylee becomes alert and slowly shifts her body weight to the side. She looks at the assessor’s hand and is hesitant of touch, but she allows gentle petting on her head and along her body. She seems unsure and lip licks, but does not retreat or display any further reaction. Behavior Determination: Experience Kylee tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
