***SAFE 09/10/17*** KITTY IS HOPING FOR A RESCUE ANGEL TONIGHT!! KITTY was left behind when owner moved. He was friendly with both adults and kids. He is 5 yrs old and sad and wishes to be adopted asap to a furever home this time. Kitty has a heart murmur and some other medical issues which should be checked after adoption. 08/30/17 18:05 Basic Information: Kitty is 6 year old male diluted torbie kitty that has no past or current medical issues that the previous owner is aware of. Kitty is not declawed. Previous owner had received Kitty from family member and had about 5 years, but cannot keep him due to moving. Socialization: According to the previous owner, around strangers, Kitty is shy for a few minutes. Around adults Kitty is respectful and relaxed and plays in a gentle manner. He has been around children 10 & 13 was described as relaxed and affectionate. Kitty is respectful of other cats and he plays exuberantly with other cats. He has no previous exposure to dogs. He has never bitten a person or another animal before. Behavior: Previous owners stated that Kitty does not have any behavioral or litterbox issues. Note that Kitty is an unaltered and has sprayed on rare occasions. Previous owner did not bath, trim his nails, it is unknown how he would react to these grooming agents. Kitty isn’t bothered by being picked up and held. He tolerates being put into a carrier, however meows/cries during car rides. For a New Family to Know: Kitty is described as mellow with a low activity level. His favorite toys are balls, strings, and laser pointer. When in the home, Kitty is the type to follow you around. Kitty would sleep anywhere, He was kept mostly indoors and is litter box trained. Kitty used an uncovered litter box and clumping litter. He was fed Friskies Surf&Turf dry and wet food. Kitty uses a scratching post.

KNOWN HISTORY: Indoor and/or Outdoor? Indoor Previously lived with: Adults and children. Behavior toward strangers: According to the previous owner, around strangers, Kitty is shy for a few minutes. Behavior toward children: He has been around children 10 & 13 was described as relaxed and affectionate. Behavior toward cats: Kitty is respectful of other cats and he plays exuberantly with other cats Behavior toward dogs: He has had no previous exposure to dogs. Bite or Scratch history: No Litter box training: Yes Energy level/descriptors: Kitty is described as mellow with a low activity level. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: friendly and allowed all handling EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is slightly re-arranged Reaction to assessor: Kitty is laying in the corner of her kennel relaxing . She makes eye contact with the assessor. Reaction when softly spoken to: Kitty remains motionless. Reaction to cage door opening: Kitty slowly backs away further into her corner. Reaction to touch: Kitty allows all petting. She appears a little unsure and has a slightly tense body, bu after a few minutes warms up to the assessor. Kitty begins to lean in for chin rubs. Reaction to being picked up: Kitty allowed pick up but has a slightly tense body. After a short period of time she leaps back into her kennel and hides in her corner but still allows to be pet. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Independent, Calm RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced cat parent- Kitty may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
