***SAFE 10/24/16***GORGEOUS AND AFFECTIONATE DREAMSICLE CREAMSICLE NEEDS YOU! Meet five year old fab feline, Kitty, a delicious and sweet boy who lived with his owner since kittenhood but got the heave ho when his family moved to a place that doesn’t permit pets. Kitty is described as mellow and respectful by his former owner. He has lived with children, babies and a female cat, with whom he got along. He is a headbutter and a darling boy who has caught the dreaded (but curable) kitty cold which has earned him a spot on tonight’s at risk list. This purrfect boy needs a foster or adopter to step up or he will become yet another sad ACC stat when noon tomorrow rolls around. Please be Kitty’s hero by offering safe haven. I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 09/30/2016 from NY 11212, owner surrender reason stated was MOVE2PRIVA.

10/19/2016 Exam Type CAGE EXAM – Medical Rating is 3 C – MAJOR CONDITIONS , Behavior Rating is EXPERIENCE, Weight 12.9 LBS.

10/19/16 Check nasal discharge noted by ACO. O: BARH. EENT: Serous nasal discharge, mild congestion. A: URI. P: Rx Doxycycline 50 mg/ml. 1.3 ml PO q 24 hours x 10 days. Excellent prognosis.

09/30/16 13:35 BASIC INFORMATION Kitty is an orange tabby medium hair that is 5 years old. Kitty was rescue when he was a kitten in the street. The owner surrendering Kitty due to moving to a place that does not allow pets. Kitty has no known illness SOCIALIZATION Kitty when stranger come over he hides for a few hours and slowly warms up to new people. Kitty has lived with children ages new born through 7. He is mellow and respectful. He allows to be petted then retrieves to another room. Kitty is affectionate and purred when petted by the adults in the home. He has never lived with dogs. He has lived with a DSH cat female. They kept their distance but was respectful of each other’s space. BEHAVIOR Kitty has never received a bath, had his nails trimmed or had his coat brushed. He has never had a bite history. Kitty uses his hooded litter box but if it’s not clean daily he would have accidence outside the litter box. FOR NEW FAMILIES TO KNOW Kitty is described as affectionate, mellow and shy. He hides and backs away with loud noises. He enjoys sleeping and looking out the window. He loves to play with ball toys and chase them around the house. Kitty enjoys sleeping on the sofa or windowsill. He loves to sun bathed. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Kitty doing intake was mellow and relaxed. The cat allowed being picked up and held. He allowed to be collard, scanned and photographed.

10/04/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Kitty hides for a few hours and slowly warms up when new people come over. He lived with children, from new born to 7 years old and was mellow and respectful of them. He is affectionate and purrs when petted by adults in the home. Kitty never lived with dogs but lived with a female cat and would keep her distance and was respectful of each other’s space. His owners report he uses a hooded litter box but if it wasn’t cleaned daily he might have an accident outside his litter box. Kitty’s owners describe him as affectionate, mellow and shy and say he can be startled by loud noises. Reaction to assessor: Kitty was lying down on his blanket at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Kitty curled his body up and watches the assessor with wide eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Kitty lip licks and remains neutral. Reaction to touch: Kitty was hesitant and leaned his head back when the assessor extended his hand out. He sniffs the assessor, leans his head in allows rubs and doesn’t mind being touched all over his body. Kitty gives light head butts and brushes against the assessor’s hand but doesn’t get up or come forward. Reaction to being picked up: Kitty was a bit tense when picked up then got antsy and leaped back into the kennel. Behavior Determination: Experience Kitty may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
