11/18/16 12:35 Basic information: Kiera was brought in as a stray. The finder found her on the street, the finder placed Kiera in a back pack and brought her to the shelter. No other information could be provided during intake. Intake Behavior: During intake Kiera had tense, stiff body. Kiera allowed to be scanned (negative), collared, pictured, and placed in a cat kennel.

Reaction to assessor: Kiera stands at the front of the cage, looking around warily and occasionally batting at the assessor’s hand. Reaction when softly spoken to: Kiera stands at the front of the cage, looking around warily and occasionally batting at the assessor’s hand. Reaction to cage door opening: Kiera becomes alert. Reaction to touch: Kiera solicits petting and attention – rubbing against the assessor’s hand, but remains wary of the environment. Behavior Determination: Experienced, no children Kiera tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
