Reaction to assessor: Kibby was resting on his blanket near the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Kibby turns and makes eye contact with the assessor and doesn’t get up or come forward when coaxed. Reaction to cage door opening: Kibby becomes alert. Reaction to touch: Kibby sniffs the assessor’s hand, leans in when rubbed on his cheek and rises up slowly. He appreciates attention, kneads on his blanket when pet and allows petting all over his body. Reaction to being picked up: Kibby was a bit tense when picked up, looked around wary of his surroundings then struggled to be put down. Behavior Determination: Experience Kibby is a little hesitant when you first approach him but warms up fast and was displaying friendly/ social behaviors in the shelter environment.
