MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:
03/25/18
Nervous and scared, a bit tense, but well behaved during PE, no signs of aggression
ENRICHMENT NOTES:
03/25/18
Lying in back of kennel, body tense. Head is turned away from me and facing towards the wall. He tolerates petting along his head and body with the bear-claw while turning head to watch my hand with wide eyes, ears flat. Licks lips and turns head back away from me. Nervous, needs more time to adjust.
03/26/18
Lying in back of kennel, body low and pupils dilated. He makes eye contact as I open the cubby door and allows petting along his head and body. Body softens as I continue to pet him and he leans in, raising his rear and tail straight into the air. Steps forward to allow further petting and pokes his head through his portal for treats. Not confident enough yet to step all the way out of his cubby – keeps pausing to look outside into the adoption room with tilted ears. Showing improvement however, has potential to continue to warm up!
Cage Condition:
Cage is recently cleaned
Reaction to assessor:
Kenobi was pressed up against the back wall of the kennel, with wide eyes focused on the assessor’s movements.
Reaction when softly spoken to:
Kenobi lip licks and turns his head away.
Reaction to cage door opening:
Kenobi tenses up and becomes alert.
Reaction to touch:
Kenobi seems curious of her surroundings and leans forward to sniff the assessor’s hand. He raises his body and gives head butts when pet, rolls over on his side and allows petting all over. He appreciates attention, but isn’t confident enough to come forward and leave his cubby when coaxed.
