Hello, my name is Keke. My animal id is #15189. I am a female brown tabby cat at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 1 years 5 months 2 weeks old. – P
I came into the shelter as a stray on 01-Dec-2017.
Keke is at risk for medical reasons, having been diagnosed with Upper Respiratory Infection, which is contagious to other cats. We suggest that Keke would be best suited to a cat experienced home.

S/O -BAR, appears friendly and interactive but a little quieter today -good appetite -sneezing, serous nasal discharge, nasal congestion -OU: open and clear -eupnic A URI P move to isolation doxycycline 0.8 ml PO SID x 10 days nebulize SID x 4 days prognosis: good but some concern for ability to medicate orally due to history of behavioral concerns
Diagnosed with URI on 12/10 and has become increasingly more difficult to medicate due to behavior S/O -QAR, much less energetic than previous exams -good appetite -mild sniffling, nasal congestion -OU: moderate blepharospasm, elevated 3rd eyelid, severe serous discharge -appears eupnic A 1. URI/conjunctivitis, unable to medicate due to behavior P extend nebulize SID x 3 days d/c doxycycline convenia injection 0.4 ml SQ, signed up for this evening dexamethasone SP 4 mg/ml: 0.25 ml SQ, signed up for this evening
Recheck URI, in iso and unable to give oral meds, was given convenia/dexamethasone injection: S/O: QAR in feral den – mild serous nasal discharge/sneeze – appears to eat small amount of wet food; urine in litter A: mild/mod URI vs other P: cont to monitor/recheck in 2-3 days

KNOWN HISTORY:: Keke was brought in as a stray so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: Appears friendly and interactive but a little quieter today
ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 12/4/17 At the front at first, soft eyes and body, rubbing against the bars. Became agitated by extremely fractious neighbor, started hissing and swatting through the bars, then retreated into den. Poked head back out when offered treats, eyes dilated. Hissed and withdrew when shown assess-a-hand. Sprayed thunderease. 12/5/17 At front on approach, soft eyes and body, rubbing against the bars. Lay down on bedding after a bit, started to groom. Became agitated again when neighbor started vocalizing. Eyes became dilated, started hissing. Hissed and retreated when door opened. Raised hand as if to swat when attempted pets, then retreated into den. Sprayed thunderease. 12/6/17 At the front on approach, soft eyes and body. Started rubbing against the bars when spoken to, sniffed my hand between the bars. Once again became agitated when neighbor started vocalized. Started hissing, grumbling, patting assess-a-hand between the bars. Ate offered treats. Hissed and retreated when door opened. Hissed, growled, swatted assess-a-hand when attempted touch, then retreated into den. Sprayed thunderease. 12/7/17 Escaped earlier today. At the front on approach, eyes dilated, soft body. Started trilling, rubbing against the bars, and rolling over. Stayed at the front when door opened, neighbor quiet today! Leaned and arched into pets, purred, kept rear lowered. Very affectionate, likely going into heat. 12/10/17 Diagnosed with URI, moved to iso. In den on approach, lay in place when spoken to and when den rotated. Very rundown, lots of sneezing. Leaned into pets, wouldn’t leave den.

Reaction to assessor:: Keke is resting in her den, out of sight, on approach.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Keke stays hidden in her den.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Keke peeks out of her den, eyes a little dilated, seems lethargic.
Reaction to touch:: Keke leans into the stroke, but won’t come out of her den.
