S/O: QAR, severe right sided head tilt, iris atrophy and severe dental disease (est age 10 years), mm’s pink, auscultation WNL, slightly painful on abdominal palpationbut no masses palpated, not interested in eating
A: geriatric
head tilt – neurologic disease: r/o infectious (toxo vs. FIP vs. FeLV vs. FIV) vs. neoplasia vs. inner ear infection vs. metabolic
P: run CBC/chem/combo test
start LRS 100 ml SQ SID
start clindamycin
start amoxi/clav 1.5 ml BID
start cerenia 0.4 ml SID
recommend NH placement
prognosis: gaurded

S/O: lying on side in kennel, brought to DVM for exam
R sided head tilt
EENT: mild dental tartar, pink gums
PLRs and menace intact, no anosicoria, mild to moderate purulent d/c OU
AD- mod aural d/c with some scant pus, thickening palpable around base of ear AS: NSF
UROGEN: small nipples, palpable spay scar
LN: WNL
temp 100.9F
H/L: no m/a, lungs clear
A: R head tilt: r/o middle/ear infection, primary neuro, secondary to palpable thickening
R ear palpable thickening: r/o neoplasia, inflammation, other
lethargy- r/o secondary to underlying cause
P: convenia 0.45ml SQ
LRS 150ml SQ
cleaned A with ear cleaner solution
start on erythromycin OU BID x10
recommend aspirate or incisional bx of thickened tissue if doesn’t resolve with treatment
also rec CBC/chem if not responding to therapy to determine if any underlying concurrent condition
