Hx: Came in 8/26/17 with mild serous ocular discharge. Was noted to be sneezing on 8/28/17 per symptoms log. On 8/29/17, was noted to be non-weight-bearing on LF – an ulcer was noted on the main paw pad – R/O calicivirus vs. other cause. Given Convenia, started on Simbadol and Onsior. S: Slightly tense, leans into petting, allows all handling except close oral exam O: BAR-H, BCS 5/9, MMs pink EENT: Mouth hangs slightly open. Mild tartar, no oral ulcerations visible but couldn’t visualize tongue because of pt behavior. Mild serous ocular discharge. No discharge AU, nose. H/L: Eupnic, not ausculted Abd: Soft, no pain on palpation M/S/I: Non-weight-bearing lame on LFL. Small crusting noted on main metacarpal pad, and active ulcer with mild moist discharge visible on pads of digits 2 and 3. No lesions on pads of other feet. Neuro: Alert and appropriate, no sign neurological deficiencies A: 1. Oral discomfort 2. Ocular discharge 3. Footpad ulceration R/O calicivirus Short-term prognosis: Good P: Move to isolation, start doxycycline 0.8 ml PO SID x10 days. Continue Simbadol and Onsior. 1088

Came to the front when spoken to, soft eyes and body, started eating treats and wet food. Leaned and arched into pets, purred, ate treats from my hand. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Kara immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction to door opening: Kara remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Kara head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Kara interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
