08/01/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Kairi was surrendered by her previous owner. She lived with two adults, and has been exposed to children of different ages. She is reported to have been friendly and gentle with them. She also lived with another cat and with a Shih Tzu, and she was playful with both. Her previous owner notes that she is playful, active, and likes to cuddle. Kairi has been social, affectionate, and easy to handle since intake. She was a bit timid with the assessor and may be a bit overwhelmed in the busy adoptions room, though she tolerated touch and petting. Reaction to assessor: Kairi is in her cubby when the assessor approaches. Reaction to cage door opening: Remains in place, a bit tense. Reaction to touch: Kairi sniffs the assessor’s hand but initially ducks away from touch. She remains at the back of the condo and allows petting on the head and along the body, though she does not approach or solicit attention. Placement determination: Average Kairi interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. She has no known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
