I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 08/29/2016 from NY 10023, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY. I came in with Group/Litter #K16-072213.

08/30/16 20:04 Basic Information Bagira is an 8 year old neutered domestic short hair who is being surrendered because owner is moving and cannot take him with her. Owner adopted Bagira from ACC about 8 years ago. Owner stated Bagira needs to be on a special diet. He is to be fed Urinary Care C/D multicare due to previously having kidney stones. Socialization Bagira is shy for a few minutes around strangers. He lived with a 4 year old child and he was relaxed and tolerant of the child. He plays in a gentle manner with kids and adults. He lived with an 8 year old male cat. He was affectionate, respectful, and tolerant of the cat. They played in a gentle manner with each other. He has never lived or been around dogs. He has never bitten or scratched a person or animal. Behavior Bagira will hide in fear sometimes. He is relaxed during car rides. Owner has never bathed or trimmed Bagira’s nails. He does likes having his coat brushed or being placed in a carrier. He does like being picked up for long periods of time. He is not bothered if disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know Bagira is described as friendly, affectionate, and gentle with low activity level. Owner stated Bagira has the loudest purr ever and loved belly rubs. He likes to play with wand style toys. He is kept indoors only and sleeps on the couch most of the time. He is fed urinary care C/D multicare. Owner leaves dry food out all day and gives him half a can of wet cat food a day. He uses a hooded cat litter box with crystal style litter in it. He a bed made out of fabric and a scratching post made out of straw. Behavior during Intake Bagira was tolerant of all handling during intake. He did not show any signs of aggression during intake.

He plays in a gentle manner with kids and adults. He lived with an 8 year old male cat. He was affectionate, respectful, and tolerant of the cat. They played in a gentle manner with each other. He has never lived or been around dogs. Also, described as friendly, affectionate, and gentle with low activity level. Reaction to assessor: Bagira immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction to door opening: Bagira remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Bagira head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm. Placement determination: Beginner Bagira interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
