Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Jordy was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He was very fearful upon intake and hissed and swatted when petting was attempted. He became agitated during his initial medical exam and escaped from restraint. Reaction to assessor: Jordy does not come to the front, but has a neutral body position. Reaction when softly spoken to: Jordy becomes stiff and alert, but his eyes remain almond shaped. Reaction to cage door opening: Jordy remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Jordy sniffs the assessor’s hand, but remains immobile when touched on his head. He shifts away slightly when touched on his body and lifts his paw to prepare to swipe, lip licking. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Jordy tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
