***SAFE 07/16/16***ISN’T IT JUST CONSIDERED BAD MANNERS TO RETURN A GIFT THAT YOU ARE GIVEN? Well that’s what has happened to 1 year old JORDI! The previous owners accepted him as a gift a year ago but are moving and giving him back! But NOT to the gift – giver… they took it a bad step further and gave him to the hands of the ACC, who will kill him without even blinking! He’s scared, and understandably so! He needs an EXPERIENCED new owner with no kids! He’s healthy and a clean looking guy, which is rare in the ACC! PLEASE, offer to take this guy and make him a “for -lifer” not a “forgettable!”!

07/08/16 18:36 Basic Information: Jordi is a 1 year old male. He was given to his previous owners as a gift when he was a kitten. He was surrendered because his previous owners are moving and aren’t allowed pets in their new apartment. He has no known injuries and the last time he went to the vet was 6 months ago. Socialization: Around strangers Jordi was friendly and outgoing if 1 to 2 people were around. But with more than three he would be shy for days. When he played with adults he was gentle. He wasn’t around children or other pets. Behavior: He has never bitten a person or animal. In car rides he sleeps and is relaxed. He hisses if his nails are trimmed. He enjoys being picked up. He isn’t bothered if he is placed in a carrier or disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know: Jordi is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, shy and quiet with a medium activity level. The two things his previous owner liked most about him were; he’s affectionate and quiet. When his previous owner was home he would tend to be in the same room. He liked to play with stuffed toys and laser pens. He was kept indoors only and at night he slept in his owner’s bed. He ate both wet Friskies and dry Beyond. He is litter box trained and used an uncovered litter box and pellet litter. He scratched on leather furniture. Behavior during intake: Jordi was attempting to hide and had a low crouched body. He allowed all handling but was very tense. He showed no signs of aggression.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Former owner stated around strangers Jordi was friendly and outgoing if 1 to 2 people were around. But with more than three he would be shy for days. When he played with adults he was gentle. He wasn’t around children or other pets. Also, described as friendly, affectionate, playful, shy and quiet with a medium activity level. Reaction to assessor: Jordi low growls when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Jordi remains crouched position on his cage bedding, alert with eyes wide open, lip licking in place. Reaction to touch: Jordi slowly leans away from the assessor’s hand. He seems hesitant once touched on the head and began to hiss to stop the interaction. Placement determination: Experience / no child Jordi tolerates attention and petting but may be stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
