***GONE 07/28/16*** OK, LISTEN UP BECAUSE YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS! DAKOTA(WHO IS THE ONLY RESCUE ONLY OF THE BUNCH), JOEY, BRETT, ADDISON (NOT LISTED) AND COREY(NOT LISTED) WERE ALL SURRENDERED! THE REASON? THEY COULD NOT BE RE-HOMED BY THE OWNER! The owner rescued a pregnant mom, who had kittens, which were all altered. But it was already too late… She couldn’t find homes for them! But the ACC can???? Quite the opposite! Now this LITTLE family, JOEY 2 YEARS IS THE DAD, DAKOTA AND BRETT ARE 1 YEAR OLD! BUT DAKOTA, UNLIKE HER OTHER TWO HOUSEMATES, IS RESCUE ONLY! So a New Hope rescue is needed to help pull DAKOTA. 07/24/16 15:22 Joey A1082516 (Dad) and his offspring , Addison A1082517,Brett A1082518,Corey A1082519 and Dakota A1082520 are all being surrendered by the owner because she was unable to rehome them. One year ago, the owner rescued the mother cat as a stray and she was pregnant and she gave birth in her home. She had the kittens all spayed but was unable to find homes for them. They are not socilaized and only l;ived with earch other. She stated tha they are very fearful of strangers. They are litterbox trained and have no accidents outside of the box. They play well with eachother. Behavior during intake Joey was fearful and growled inside of the carrier. He was let out of the carrier on his own into a kennel, where he was scanned but we were unable to collar due to him wanting to flee, growling and trying to hide.

Reaction to assessor: Joey looks tense, crouched down at the back when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Joey remains in place, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Joey leans away from the assessor’s hand, but once he accepts the stroke he began to growl and lip lick while his eyes wander. Placement determination: Experience / no child Joey tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
