JESSIE – A1062576
Gone - 1-14-2016 Manhattan
**GONE 01/14/16** NEW HOPE RESCUE needed for JESSIE, tonight! Here’s the scoop: someone found this sleek pantherette as a stray, and wanted to feel good about themselves by bringing her into their home. That lasted a hot minute! The same folks introduced a child into their home and when JESSIE did not fall head over heels in love with said kiddo, guess who got the boot? JESSIE has had a lot of change in her life recently and it’s no wonder she has a few trust issues. This girl needs a safe place to land while she unwinds and learns to trust again. Please find someone who is willing to be a foster/adopter for a NEW HOPE rescue group, and save JESSIE tonight!

01/09/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
01/09/16 Jessie A1062576 is a 3 yr. old female Black DSH mix who was surrendered today due to a new child being introduced to the home. Jessie was originally a stray who was brought into the home after she was being fed outside for a few days. Around strangers Jessie is shy and fearful. She doesn’t play but did allow the 12 yr old daughter to pet her for short periods of time. There were no other pets in the home. Jessie never received any grooming during her short time with her family. Jessie was fed meow mix dry food. She was not litter trained but attempted to use the litter box which was hooded a couple of times. During intake Jessie was very tense. She began to hiss, growl and fled from carrier into a corner where she was picked up with linen in an attempt to reduce stress. She was photographed in the kennel.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Jessie’s former owner stated around strangers she is shy and fearful. She doesn’t play, but did allow the 12 yr old daughter to pet her for short periods of time. Reaction to assessor: Jessie looks tense in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Jessie remains hiding in her cat den, alert with pupils fully dilated. Reaction to touch: Jessie does not allow the stroke, swats, hisses and growls at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: NH ONLY Jessie is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. She is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
