SAFE 11/9/17 ***Must Find Placement by 6pm*** Adorable kitten Jessie hasn’t quite figured out how to eat on her own yet, help her today @MACC! Meet Jessie: This adorable cutie hasn’t quite learned how to eat on her own just yet, but she takes syringe feedings like a pro! She has some conjunctivitis but with some TLC will be back on her paws in no time. This cutie needs placement by 6pm today, 11/9.

Initial Exam (11/08/17)
female kitten came alone
appx 3 weeks old
underage, underweight, mild dehydration
not eating own
occulonasal d/c; eyes and nose cleaned
clean ears, clean coat
placed in medical with heat support
fed kitten food with KMR and water by syringe
will feed and monitor overnight
DVM Intake Exam
Estimated age:3-4 weeks
Microchip noted on Intake?
History :stray kitten brought in without mom
Observed Behavior -slightly unsocialized but allows handling; not eating on her own but tolerating syringe feeding
Evidence of Cruelty seen -n
Evidence of Trauma seen -n
EENT: OU-crusted shut with mucoid discharge, difficult to visualize globe but suspect intact; conjunctivitis; AU-clear; mucoid nasal discharge with congestion
Oral Exam: mm pk, sl tacky; deciduous dentitia
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: soft, nonpainful; doughy
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal: grossly normal
Prognosis: fair to good
erythromycin OU BID x 10 days
doxycycline 0.1 ml PO SID x 10 days
LRS 15 ml SQ SID x 3 days
force feed until eating on her own
SURGERY: temp waiver due to underage/conjunctivitis/URI
