JAZZY – A1067228
Safe - 3-29-2016 Manhattan Rescue: Staten Island Hope Please honor your pledges: http://www.statenislandhoperescue.org/
**SAFE 03/29/16** Poor Jazzy, his life has been turned upside down these last few months. First, Jazzy was found as a stray on the mean streets of Manhattan. A family took pity on Jazzy and took him in. Jazzy was a but aloof in the beginning, kept to himself , but was friendly towards the head of the household. Jazzy didn’t take too well to the children in the house, he wanted nothing to do with them. Jazzy spent time in his own world, taking in the sun and playing with toys. Jazzy did not have enough time to decompress in his new house, strangers bothered him, kids bothered him. So sadly, Jazzy was brought to the shelter after only 1 month. Jazzy now sits on death row, not knowing his life will end tomorrow. Yes, without help, Jazzy will leave this earth all alone, not knowing any one cared about him. Don’t let this 2 year old creamsicle leave this earth before his time. Share him for a new home. Before it is too late.

03/10/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
03/10/16 11:39hrs Jazzy was found on the street a month ago when his finder decided to keep him. He is described as solitary and distant but somewhat friendly. Jazzy would allow his finder to pet him. He lived with children aged 4 and 7 years old. Jazzy would not interact with the children. He would hiss and swat at them when they attempted to pet him. BEHAVIOR Jazzy spent most of his time on top of the couch or resting somewhere low to ground and covered. He spent a lot of time in the window sill sunbathing. He is accustomed to grooming himself. He would allow his owner to hold him and pet him on his head and underneath his jaw. His owner noticed that when he is petted on his back or near his tail, Jazzy would bite his owner. He did not bite or scratch within the last 10 days. Jazzy would also hide and then pounce onto the legs of the children when they passed by him. When there were visitors in the home, he would remain hidden. FOR A NEW A FAMILY Jazzy is accustomed to using a covered litterbox. His owner noted that his litterbox has to be cleaned at least 3x a day because Jazzy will actively try to remove his droppings. He enjoyed playing with stuffed mice and a children’s Barbie doll. He would spend time on his carpeted cat castle and used it as a scratching post as well. Jazzy was fed Whiskers wet cat food and Friskies dry cat food separately. When he is offered water in a bowl, he will tip it over and repeatedly and drink from the toilet bowl. Jazzy would sleep in the base of his cat castle. DURING INTAKE Jazzy remained with his body low to the ground while attempting to walk away from the Admissions Counselor. He allowed touch but would attempt to flee. He was collared, scanned for a microchip(negative) and photographed.
