**SAFE 07/05/16** WOWZA!! LOOK AT THIS CUTIE CALICO!! Sadly for JAYDA if you’re the last one in, you’re the first one out. JAYDA was “gifted” to her current owner and bonded with her but did not bond with the resident cats…so out JAYDA goes….A volunteer writes: Jayda is a mellow, affectionate and a bit on the shy side young lady who will melt your heart the way ice melts on a warm summer day. She enjoys being petted and handled, however at times she can get a bit overstimulated. Experienced cat parents (those with a lot of experience with cats) whose home has no children will be able to provide the patience and quiet surroundings Jayda needs to be the best kitty she can be!…. Three year old (and already SPAYED) JAYDA got a raw deal…We are hoping that the PURRFECT SOMEONE IS LOOKING FOR HER NOW!! THERE ARE A LOT OF CATS TONIGHT SO DON’T WAIT TO APPLY!! PURRFECT PACO & THESE 30 CATS NEED YOU NOW!! If you need help, email [email protected]

06/23/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD

Jayda came to the shelter surrendered by an owner who describes her as mellow, shy and affectionate. Upon intake, Jayda was tense but allowed slow handling. Reaction to assessor: Jayda stretches in her cubby. Reaction when softly spoken to: Jayda comes to the front, soliciting attention. Reaction to cage door opening: Jayda is soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Jayda solicits petting and attention for a while but then hissed at the assessor when her back was touched. Reaction to pick up: Jayda is tolerant of this type of handling for a short while, then hisses and tries to escape. Placement Determination: Experience No Child Jayda approaches the assessor, solicits petting and allows brief handling, but did show some concerning behavior by hissing at the assessor while being touched.
