02/12/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Jaxy and at the time she was hesitant, very tense. Sniffs hand. Allows petting. Calm and relaxed. Leans head forward for attention. Reaction to assessor: Jaxy does not come to front and looks at the assesssor nervously When spoken quietly: Jaxy does not come to front and looks at the assessor nerviously Reaction to door cage opening: Jaxy remains motionless Reaction to touch: Jaxy’s body is tense but she allows petting with a slow approach Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: Experience Jaxy was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices she relaxed a little. I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
