Lying down in litter box, feint sleeping, ears tilted to the side. Sniffs hand and was hesitant of contact, but allows and leans in for cheek rubs, closing eyes. Hisses when pet along her body, and then lip licks. Continues to allow rubs on head but the end of her tail flicks. Needs time to settle in.Â

Janek was lying down with his paws tucked under his body, meowing softly when approached.

Janek continues to meow and holds eye contact with the assessor, blinking softly.

Janek gets up and greets the assessor by the front.

Janek sniffs the assessor’s hand and accepts petting. He leans in for head rubs, arches his body, and begins to purr. His body twitches slightly when stroked along his back, but he doesn’t seem to mind attention and continues to rub his head against the assessor.

Janek loves water and enjoys being bathed. he also likes being brushed and will tolerate having his nails trimmed. Janek is not bothered if he is held, put in a carrier or disturbed while he sleeps.

Owner described Janek as friendly affectionate and mellow. When at home he will follow his owner around. Janek has cat toys in the home like balls and stuffed mice but he does not care to play with them. He has been kept indoors only and eats both wet and dry cat food. He is sued to a hooded litter box with clumping or crystal litter.

During intake Janek allowed the counselor to collar him and take his picture with no problems. When being put back in the carrier Janek started to low growl.
