09/25/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Jae was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Her finder believes she was abandoned and reports she was friendly. She allowed all handling upon intake, but was timid and tense during her initial medical exam and tolerated minimal handling. Reaction to assessor: Jae was lying down, calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Jae looks at the assessor, and then looks around at her surroundings. Reaction to cage door opening: Jae remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Jae sniffs the assessor’s hand and accepts petting on her head. She slowly comes forward and lifts her rear when pet on her lower back. Reaction to pick up: Jae was tense during pick up and wiggles to be placed back down when held. She continues to allow petting when placed back into her kennel. Behavior Determination: Average Jae interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
