JAYDEN aka JADA – A1061622
Gone - 1-3-2016 Manhattan
**GONE 01/03/16** NEW HOPE RESCUE is needed for JADA, tonight! It might be a new year, but it’s the same sad story: someone traps a kitten, the kitten comes to the ACC. Obviously the kitten is terrified; obviously the shelter staff do nothing to help him feel more at ease, and to become more adoptable. All the ACC have done with JADA is to sling him into a cage and count down the moments until they could schedule him for death. This little guy is only guesstimated to be 5 months old, and he will be killed tomorrow at lunchtime unless a NEW HOPE rescue group steps up for him, tonight!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Jayden was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He was caught in a trap in the finder’s yard and did not allow the finder to handle him. He was very tense during intake and was very nervous. He hissed and tries to scratch in an attempt to flee. Reaction to assessor: Jayden was inside a hidey den upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Jayden does not respond. Reaction to cage door opening: Jayden remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Jayden does not allow touch; he hisses, spits, and strikes the assessor’s hand. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Jayden is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
