SAFE 3/30/16 Jack was brought into the shelter by a Good Samaritan who couldn’t leave him outside in his current state.
He is understandably nervous, but allows all handling and appreciates a slow approach.

3/28/16 – Re-Exam
S: QAR cat
O: QAR, neutered male cat. EENT: blind. Conjunctivitis OU. Microphthalmia OD. Global corneal opacity. Small amount of dental tartar/staining: very difficult to visualize upper L dental arcade, due to cat becoming anxious. MS: cat is ambulatory, but hesitant, due to blindness. GI: soft, non-painful abdomen. Cardiopulmonary: NSF upon auscultation of cardiac valve areas or lung fields. Neuro: blind, QAR. Integ: some fecal material on hind legs.
A: Blind, conjunctivitis, healed global corneal ulceration vs. anterior uveitis vs. ciliary adenocarcinoma, OD microphthalmia (R/O secondary to trauma or infectious disease vs. congenital).
P: continue erythromycin BID OU tx. Meloxicam (5 mg/ml) 0.25 cc SC to alleviate ocular discomfort. Continue to monitor health, while in shelter. Recommend full diagnostic workup and evaluation (especially ophthalmic) at private veterinarian upon placement.
