11/14/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Iogear was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She attempted to flee upon intake and during her initial medical exam, resisting handling. Reaction to assessor: Iogear was lying down upon approach, calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Iogear averts her gaze and blinks softly. Reaction to cage door opening: Iogear remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Iogear sniffs the assessor’s hand and flinches when first touched. Her body is tense, but she allows gentle petting on her head and body, and places her head back down to rest, looking away from the assessor. She squints her eyes and lip licks during the interaction, but does not display any further reaction. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Iogear tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
